I'll start it off.. on 6/15 i'll be spinning for a medium-sized house party :) then the following week on the 24th, I'll be spinning at a hotel for a sweet 16 party! Good thing I got myself a coffin.

I'll continue. I am having a gig on the 19th (graduation party) and another graduation/birthday/pool party on the 24th of june. I just love those gig pay checks. Makes those bills go farther and farther away,eh?

yes, in a sense. How much are you charging? Also, Look into a few hightech effect lights (american dj topaz, vertigo, mystic, avenger) (chauvet obession, mushroom, derby, zx-15). Get a few american dj big shot strobes too- they work well with the crowd when grindin starts to come in.

i'm spinning at 3 house parties... one on the 24th, july 1st, and the 2nd... :slayer:  :music:  :dj: unfortunately, they're all for free... so i'm really considering a tip jar or something...

Well, I got some bad news.. The paying gig I had (24th) was cancelled.. She said "some people told me its better to just have people bring CDs in" so im like... uhhhh okay then. the 15th is still on... although its gonna be free... with minimal lighting, a few blacklights, and a strobe.. maybe one or two intelligent light thingys, if I can get them from my friend. I'll probably use the tip jar :)

Thats a bummer, but it happens, in order to avoid that a great thing to do is to type up a professional sounding contract that basically states that if someone books a gig but than retracts before the date comes up they have to pay you however much you deem right, half the price is a standard, sometimes lower, but this will make people keep gigs on and not gekk ya out like that

It's ok, most people dont notice that unless someone mentions it.
