Hello everyone,
So I am new to the DJ scene with only a years of loose experience. I am having trouble deciding what I want to do about speakers. There are a lot of links, sorry but please let me know if you can help out! My main question is at the bottom
Here is my situation:

-I bought a pair of MTX 12" off of a kid form craigslist for about $120

-After realizing that these things aren't going to do much I tore out the old woofer and tweeter drivers and spent $500 on all of this

-Now... I have a crappy amp running these things. It's a pyle pro 1400.

So, I am going to be DJing small to middle sized places (I would say a room about 50ft x 50ft max). I would also like to dual use speakers for home use

******* What I am wondering is this: Do you think that I should try and sell these speakers (and lose some money) and buy a whole new system or keep the ones that I have and buy a subwoofer? Active systems seem easier and I have had a lot of trouble trying to find a sub that I want to work with the setup. I am worried that I will just waste more money instead of starting over and doing it right. If I do get a new system, I would be willing to spend up to $800. Please let me know what you think and what sort of systems you would recommend. Either active or passive will work.

Thanks so much!!
