Ok this is kind of out there, but I have searched online, and haven't found an answer to my question. A friend of mine wants to help me out this season, but he doesn't want to be paid. I am thinking that there has to be some legal thing against this sort of thing - especially since he wants to do this for the whole season. I will admit, this guy is a little on the eccentric side, but a genuinely nice person, but for the life of me I can't figure out why he doesn't want to be paid. If anyone knows if this is legal or not, please let me know.

My husband does it for free at every gig. lol Seriously tho legally he and i have no relationship, but I dont know of any issues with him "volunteering" at every event.

But if it were a minor, maybe, but otherwise meh.

Now if he gets hurt... there may be some wild insurance legalities that come into play even though he's not your employee.

jazzyj's insurance concern is valid. I don't see a problem though. Call it an internship. Law firms do it all the time. (disclaimer: I am not an attorney and you should not ask me about legal advice)

Someone who wants to work for free... let's see... umm why ask questions?

Call it an internship. Slip him some beer money under the table if you want.

Good way to meet girls/guys? Get some experience before starting out on your own? I tag along with some of the wedding guys to get some MC experience sometimes, as id like to be prepared before doing a wedding myself.

The reason i never use assitants is because they will usually take my ideas and then start their own company and become competition to me. Learned that lesson a long time ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

Teach him how to DJ and make him work for FREE. Call yourself DJ Peeeimp and collect the dolla-dolla bills, y'all.

That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out well for them.

It's the American way, baby.
