I've seen a number of posts, like the DJing 101 thread, where the 1st post just says "Gone". What's up with that? Was there a post that got edited? Did ops remove it?

Sigma threw a hissy fit and quit the forum for whatever reason, so he deleted all his informative posts,

Come back Sigma ... Be the bigger man :)

I didn't notice, so I'm guessing it didn't happen in "Off Topic".

what happened to make him quit?

I did wonder where he's been and just assumed he would turn up sooner or later.

can't decide if this is a good thing or not, while he did supply super useful advice, feedback and information; Drama and trouble seemed to follow the man around as if he had a sausage in his pocket at a petting zoo.

Sigma has helped me out a number of times so i'll miss him.

Reading through his recent post it seems it was something and nothing.

He'll be back when he calms down.

I'll miss him too. He gave me some great podcast ideas right before he left. I'm just saying it might be better for him.

I am well aware that Sigma was a great help to many on this forum, but he was nothing but a dick to me.

Allen, you weren't the only one. Some people he simply just did not like for whatever reason.

Then who will share my lament for the lack of FLAC support on DJ media players?
I hope he and his posts return.

Gonna look through his profile, will report back with what I find.

EDIT: Looked for a solid 15, did not find anything that stuck out to me. He made all of his last posts on 11/08, then seemingly disappeared. I think that maybe he requested to have himself banned so he couldn't come back. Probably got tired of repeat threads. It's a shame, he had a lot of solid advice.

I'm sure those of us that were fortunate enough to still have him on social media will speak to him soon.

if he deleted the advice on his way out, then he really never gave a damn about anyone.

There are enough knowledgable DJs on this forum, it seems we should be able to replace the two main posts in the Beginners Forum (DJing 101 and A NOOB's Guide To DJing Right).

Sigma was a good writer, but if we worked together, I think we could put up something comparable to what was there. Anyone interested in pitching in? I'm a noob myself, so I'm not qualified to write the content, but I am a good writer and would be willing to act as editor.

Bobcat, we can sure give it a go. Let's see if we can get anyone else to jump on board. I think I'm a good dj, I don't have enough experience to help anyone really well.

I would suggest reposting the cached tutorials, and of course give proper credit to Sigma as the author.

What has happened to the Noobs guide to DJ'Ing which was the first link above?

Has a mod removed it and if so why?

haven't been on in several days, so i'm curious as to why sigma just left with nothing to leave behind. seems a bit...childish to me. i'm sure there's an explanation for it, but it seems like he sort of ragequit.

which is what i don't understand. sure, heated arguments come and go all the time, but if you're so upset about whatever, just take some time away from the forum to cool off. or just leave on your own volition altogether. i remember sometime last year i stopped coming on for months because i didn't find any merit on the forums for a good bit, then i came back through my own motivation to do stuff. interests come and go. no need to leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth when you leave.

I think that the posts above have been restored.

The beginners guide thread has been deleted. I copied and pasted it back into the original thread and it's gone, along with my post. I can't see that it's been restored back into the beginners section, can you link it for me?

The original thread is in the link (http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?646-Sigma-s-n00bs-guide-to-DJing-right), but the thread has been "unstickied".

If we're going to replace his content, I wanted to ask if he plans to remove it again. If he's willing to keep it on the DJF, I'll sticky it again.

So because it's been unstickied it means it can't be seen? (It comes up invalid thread specified). Besides that, it had already been unstickied before I copied the post back in so it cant be that, it has been deleted.

How come the second link is also unstickied but can be seen?

I'm confused.

It might be unseen because Sigma - the thread's creator - is banned, thus the threads are banned as well. I'm not sure because I can see the thread. I assumed that you could see it as well. Let's revisit this on Tuesday.

I see actual published material quoted on here all the time. Just quote it from the source giving credit.
