Yet another controller that i've seen in the last 2 weeks that is really making me consider a switch to an all digital setup.

Couldn't find much on this off the Vestax website, but here's detailed review from djtech tools.

JonMon, are you looking for something to Scratch on digitally or just for control?

I'd love one that is good all around, but i like to have a dedicated scratch setup anyways so as long as it does control well enough to my preference then I'm good. Although It's hard to please me now with controllers, i can get very picky. But i have a bigger itch to get semi-traditional setup...........with a DVS, really itching for a DJM-T1 now that it dropped in price. A one deck setup with that is all i need.

I absolutely LOVE my VCI-100SE with Traktor! I've had a total blast with it, and can only but DREAM to have a 400 someday. Truly don't see that happening, considering how bad off I am money wise (that's another story)

Think the original 400 will come down in price, when this is released?

Average price is still $999.00 online.

Definitely wouldnt drop 1k for a controller, but I would think about paying 700 for a great one. Wish they had this demoed at my local SamAsh, so I can try it out. :argh:

Mmmmm maybe not when its released, but wouldn't be suprised if it did not too long after.

while searching for other options in that price range, I ran into this....

EKS Otus Dual Deck DJ Controller w/ Sound Card

The design is great but look more like a toy. Need to find some reviews on youtube (blocked @ work).

I think I would rather separate platter controllers rather than a one full piece, because the platters are usually too close for my comfort.

EDIT:
Reviews are scarce for a controller that's been out for more than a yr now. hmmm

When i was speaking with Nem0nic at Behringer, we were talking about combining different pieces of digital kit. 2 years ago it was really hard to fine one controller that did everything, but today you can purchase smaller controllers that allow you to almost build your own system of control. The new Behringer controllers are very good both in function and over all build quality. You could almost use one for EQ and deck management and buy a stand alone MIDI deck for scrathing and cuing. Would cost only a fraction of what the popular "all in one" controllers are and the stand alones have very nice platters. I am going to publish a few articles this week actually regarding this very thing :D

Nice please do so.

The behringer controllers look great, good to see them step up their game.

They are developing an "all in one" controller too but their single modules are really great. A&H did a total 180 with their 1D & 2D by releasing the K2. I literally blew my load when i saw that new DB2 setup with the link feature. K2 for deck management and the DB2 for EQ functions.

I have the VCI-400, not the special edition, but the original. I want a small(ish) desktop setup for my small apartment and it works great for that.

Any pros and cons? Looks like a great controller, the original.

All pros. No cons so far. :P

Actually, I don;t really need to 4 decks myself. I haven't made use of the full layout, though when I read it, I thought I would, so perhaps it is to come.

Love the filters madly! the jogs feel good but so completely different from my Denon (hc-4500) that it is taking some getting used to. Everything else is a mapping issue I can either deal with or change.

The platters on those VCI's feel gross to me - but I find you don't have to use the platters on most of these controllers anyway.

Once I got used to my VCI jogs, I fell in love. :D

Odd at first going from TECHS! lol... imagine the transition from CDJ is a bit better.

Its nice but Seeing the Traktor Kontrol S2 at 399 and software included.. idk... Even S4 + a PDX-2000 or something for scratching would be cheaper

Why a $1K, 4-deck/channel, pro level controller was made to only work with the 2-deck/channel, consumer level Serato DJ Intro and not the pro level, 4-deck Serato ITCH is beyond me. Has to be one of more bizarre biz moves I've seen in a while.

Also disappointed to see that Vestax failed to include a separate booth monitor output on a high end "all-in-one" machine - especially since so much noise was made about other manufacturers making this very same mistake.

I would definitely pick a VCI-400 up if it functioned with ITCH and provided booth outputs. Appears to be a well designed and constructed tool.
