I know it is up to the one using the mixer and software, but is using the Rane TTM-56s with Traktor something other DJs do? Or do you feel Rane is meant for Serato.

Think about what you mostly spin, then see whether Traktor or Serato work better for you, and which one you're more comfortable with :)

I had a Numark M3, Traktor Scratch Duo and 1200s and it was all stolen. I'm getting new 1200s soon, but I want a good mixer and idk whether to get a 4 channel Pioneer mixer or the Rane TTM-56s.

it's really up to you...

the pioneers are good if you want effects, these mixers are mostly for mixing... but if you want to cut and scratch the ttm 56 would probably be your best bet because of the fadders.

something that i guess answers your question, the TTM 56 and 4 channel pioneer mixers have the exact same capabilities using traktor or serato. they will both work the same way. neither are mappable anyway.

it should really boil down to the first statement i made about what you're looking to do with it.

I was planning on doing that before getting a DJM 900... I found a local Audio 6 for $150 but the same day I ordered a DJM.

I would do it... The TTM56S is pretty much a legendary mixer and you can always use novation dicers for cues and effects.. or better yet an X1

Well the effects that Pioneer Mixers have are the same that Traktor Pro 2 has in their program, correct? And having an X1 you can use all the effects in Traktor Pro 2, correct?

Well the X1 would control the effects on Traktor since the ttm56s doesnt have effects

On my DJM900 I just use the effects on the mixer itself

Best mixer ever. Everything works flawlessly, the sound quality is amazing. Crossfader and all faders are impressive too and construction is top notch

Only when I use it out with friends, but at home I just use the turntables with timecode with Traktor Scratch Pro 2.

looks like you have a nice setup. I would love to spend $2000 on a mixer if I had it haha. Any recommendations on something cheaper around half of that maybe.

If you want to stick with Pioneer, the DJM-T1 is now $999. Do you need four channels?

You can get a DJM900 brand new from BH Photo for $1600~. Or go for the DJMT1 which basically has like an X1 embedded in it and great sound quality, controls traktor best. Also brings Traktor Scratch Duo to use with timecode.

I got the DJM 900 instead because I wanted to use it for various things (other than already having traktor scratch pro because my s4)... the sound card can be routed completely, works with Ableton Live, fully midi capable, 4 channels of course. The DJMT1 is great specially if you want to just scratch/mix and want to fully control Traktor. Now with the price decrease you can't go wrong with it... def would pick the DJM T1 over the TTM57 and ttm56s+audio6

I don't think I need four channels, the new Traktor has all the samples in it now which is cool.

I will have to keep that in mind about B&H, I sort of want Traktor Pro 2 and I do see that DJM-T1 comes with Duo 2. You have an S4 how do you like that?

I've never really thought of Denon. I kind of wanna go big the first time and get a great mixer, one that I won't have to replace for years.

Get the Pioneer in that case. The Denon I hear its great but always get what you really want or else you will find yourself spending more cash

I think I may just save some more and spend more money to have the best equipment. Thanks for all the insight.
