I'm wanting to get a four channel mixer as I want to start doing three deck mixing. I mix with IEMs so something that would accomodate being able to have my cue play multiple channels at once at the same volume such as putting the cue knob in the middle of CH1 and CH2 as I do with my current mixer, or moving it a bit towards one channel. I like my friend's DJM 800, it works great with IEMs and is a solid mixer but I don't really don't think the effects it has sound good and I don't quite want to spend $800+ on a mixer yet. Could anyone here recommend a mixer? My budget is variable, I'm thinking around $500-600 or so.

I have a Korg Zero 4 I am letting go for $500. It's got effects for each individual channel, master effects and the cue split that you like. The cue split works similar to a DJM 800 (a knob to set the level). I use IEMs too, and it worked well for me.

my old denon dn-x1600 could cue multiple channels at once.. the x1100 should be the same if you're looking to save some money. if you're cool with used mixers I'd definitely consider DJNR's korg though, solid mixer.

Yeah, I feel like a jerk only recommending my own mixer, but I honestly don't know of many mixers in that price range that are solid 4 channels.

Edit: That being said, your best bet is to buy used.

Ecler Nuo 4.0

True. There's like three of them floating around too.

Ecler Nuo 4.0

Good call. I guess I automatically added the 'extras' of the Zero4, but OP didn't mention any of it, so it doesn't seem relevant.

Ecler Nuo 4 looks to be a no frills four channel mixer, but I can get a DJM 800 that does a lot morefor roughly $800 on eBay, whereas this Ecler seems to be $750 anywhere I look.

But the Ecler offer much better sound quality, and some of the best EQ I have ever try. If you care more about efx get the DJM if not get the Ecler.

I've been looking for DJM-800s on Ebay, and a lot of them are going for $950-$1200 right now. It's kind of BS.:(

The Ecler Nuo 4 is a "no frills" mixer, but what it doesn't flaunt it makes up for more subtle but significant differences such as sound quality, durability, and fantastic EQ. The only significant thing that the DJM does over the Ecler is on-board effects, but since you can find the Ecler for cheaper than you can find a DJM, you could invest into an effects unit. I have a DJM-900 now, and even all the effects it has now, I wish I had an EFX-1000 or the new RMX unit.

He's right, but you could also get an external effects unit.

Nuo 4.0 over djm 800 any day. Btw, consider dn-x1100, I also wanted 3 or 4 channel mixer, and this is the cheapest mixer I managed to find that is quality and I love it.

If you want to save money and don't need effects, the vmc-004xl is also a good, no frills mixer. Sound quality isn't quite that of the Nuo 4.0 (the noise floor is audibly louder…that's about it) but it also costs less than half as much. You can't cue multiple channels at once, but you can blend b/t the cue and master……I don't see much of a difference between the two cuing systems, but it depends on your style of mixing. If you don't know how to play without running your mixer into the red, then any Vestax will piss you off. They have a decent amount of headroom, but they sound terrible when you overdrive them. I think that's a feature instead of a problem, but apparently most DJs disagree with me there.

The DN-X1100 is good for the price if you want something more like the Pioneer layout. Personally, I'd choose it over the 800 or 900 for my own personal use mostly because fit/finish is about 90% of the way there for 1/4 the price (of the 900) and the 800/900s don't have any other features that I'd use.

The DN-X1100 looks awesome, I'm going to do some research on it.

The Vestaxes are pretty neat, indeed. I messed with a VMC-002 and thought it was nice and solid.
