hey everybody thanks for checking this out.

First off I am a singer/songwriter that found his way toward the DJ side of things a few years ago. I am starting to use Logic and have been making tons of mixes with my cdjs... now i am ready to start writing my own "songs" or "tracks." My production skills are not great but i feel that i have a knack for playing instruments, writing songs, and catchy melodies.

What do you guys think i should do to take my track to the next level? seriously any feedback will help me and this is literally the first tunes i ever wrote using logic pro x. peace

Hey casablanka,

Nice tune.

The vocal sounds good, I would EQ the reverb as its sounds a bit muddy.
Is the guitar on the left meant to distort like that?
You need to balance the guitar with something on the right hand side, its a very lop sided mix at the moment.
The drums need to be a bit louder, for me they are way too far in the background
At the beginning you've got a nice garage sound/loop which gets drowned out by the guitar and clashes with it tonally.

Hey thanks for checking it out yea i know this is exactly what i want to know/hear. i know it sounds muddy and weird i'm a songwriter mostly and then i've been getting heavily into djing since i bought cdjs.... now i wanna take things to a new level and at least produce some tracks... when i play this track and mix it with other tracks on my cdjs it sounds decent like a live remix... you know what i mean? I am currently learning how to use logic pro x. I want to keep producing but i have a lot more to learn. i am so lost on the principles of applying compressors, reverbs, and especially EQ (obviously). Check out my live dj sets on my soundcloudd... cheers thanks again
