Remix Decks are the latest TRAKTOR innovation, letting you select from up to 64 loops and one-shot samples per deck. Any of the four decks in TRAKTOR PRO 2.5 can be switched to be a Remix Deck
Each Remix Deck offers four different Slots (columns), ideal for arranging sounds and loops by instrument groups e.g. different drum, bass, percussion loops. Play one sound per column - a total of four samples at any one time.
Use loops from the included sound content or import any loops and sounds of your own
Develop your own unique trademark sound and build a personal arsenal of sounds by live-capturing your favorite loops while DJing

The stylish multi-color pads and ergonomic faders make TRAKTOR KONTROL F1 the ultimate controller for a Remix Deck. Any sound or loop can be assigned a specific RGB color, either in the software or via the controller
A Remix Set™ is the combination of 64 loops and one-shot samples and their respective beat grids and BPMs - stored and loaded just like a regular track in the browser
Control the entire Remix Deck via Native Scratch timecode control with vinyl or CDs - or scratch using the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4/S2 jog wheels. Each Remix Deck has its own transport, sync, and tempo master controls

To add more flavor you can choose which slots are fed through TRAKTOR’s FX units, or even play samples in reverse
The Punch mode allows for instant switching between different loops in one instrument group, in perfect phase - switch from one drum loop to the next exactly on the 2 and 4 snares
Additionally, the Remix Deck quantize can be set to different values for full control of the musical phrasing

Rewritten tempo detection for improved accuracy, developed from analysing thousands of tracks from various genres
New “downbeat” auto-detection improves auto-beat-gridding and phase recognition
Convenient analysis options when importing files to your collection - set the tempo range by BPM
Much improved BPM detection on tracks with variable tempo, (such as “live” drummer genres) - now detects average BPM
Rewritten Tempo-Tap – instant and simple realignment anytime your tracks drifts away from the grid over time
Manually adjusted grids, (and all BPM-locked tracks) keep their position and tempo from previous versions

Release Date: May 30th
MSRP: $279 / 249 Euro

It looks neat, but I'm not sure that it's worth $279 to me. I could probably map my mpd24 to do most of what the f1 does, but we'll see.

What do you guys think?

Looks pretty cool. Although I lol'd when the president of Native Instruments said that using it is not DJing.

Those buttons are RGB LED's so there's an additional level of feedback you would lose with a MPD24.

Overall I think these look pretty nice and priced about right, I'm more excited about TP 2.5 than the F1's though.

I am def. excited about 2.5. I am going to try to map the sample banks to my apc20

For the people who is targets i think it will be a fantastic piece of equipment. But for the rest of the crowd it will just be an expensive controller.

The 2.5 update looks quite good though.

It looks great, but I must be missing the real utility of the RGB pads?? I would probably treat each vertical column as a section like "drums" "baseline" "lead" "vocal" with different clips from each running down the grid. No need to color code if I can remember "first column drums, second column bass etc." If I'm right about the color coded clips just being there to grab some of ableton's flare, and marketshare, then I see berhinger's cmd DC-1 as my next "remix deck" controler, not the F1. Can anyone deduce a scenario where I would want a bunch of radomly colored clips in each column, that would also be easier than just line them up in rows or columns?

I guess we can now put a new meaning to the song the bridge is over

that's the msrp, street price will be lower.

i'm looking forward to the upgrade. i don't use ableton live when i play out, it is a studio tool for me. this upgrade suits me perfectly. my midi fighter's days are numbered.

Yes, it's a nod towards Ableton for sure. Looking forward to messing with 2.5!

I know I won't get the functionality out of the mpd that the f1 offers, but it would at least let me try it out. If I liked it and felt like I could use it, I would probably just wait to buy a used f1. Someone will probably have it listed on here a few weeks after release .

It can't be too much lower. I can't find anything on the msrp when the x1 was released, but I don't remember it being anywhere near as high. Still, I guess the addition of the rgb leds, a small screen and a tp2 license would bump up the price a bit.

Hmmm... I still can't imagine the necessity for the RGB feedback in 2.5 itself but I think I might have changed my mind about buying the cmd DC-1 based on the midimapping potential of the RGB pads. I actually really enjoy mapping my controllers to personalize my workflow and the idea of programing full color sweeps and whatnot is really exciting! If I just wanted the "remix deck" functionality, for half the price, the berhinger DC-1 should prettymuch cover it, but I'll probly pick up an F-1 just to have fun mapping interesting patterns, fades, and blinky bits.

I am too, but I can't figure out what the model is for this style of DJing. Is this for the Girl Talk wanna bes? I thought that integrating samples were his style. I suppose if they're auto-sync'd, it'd be easy to integrate them into a mix...

But wouldn't flexible beat-grids be the key to all of this? Without flexible beat-grids, you're limited. Do we think that TP 2.5 will bring flexible beat-grids? I hope so.

Yes, but what are the chances that NI implements flexgrids in Traktor BEFORE Maschine, in a free update, with nothing about it in the official press release? Like zero, unless NI's entire marketing division are all catatonic.

I feel like this does three things for NI. First, it fixes the obviously flawed sample decks from TPro 2, second it pushes the sale of the F1 hardware, which in turn makes sense as the first step to integrating Maschine into traktor.

I wish NI was at NAMM, i would have loved to played with this.

I am underwhelmed, but I'm not a controllerist, turntablist or remixologist... I guess if I were a made up word used to describe what I do, would just be mix'n'loopologist.
