So, I kinda stumbled upon this with my friends. I'm helping a friend produce her dubstep mashup. She's a pretty good DJ but she needed help with the mixing and making everything sound nice, so I offered to more or less produce the track for her. When she sent me all the "stems" for the mashup, I noticed that they didn't sound too good. She told me that she ran all the originals through platinum notes, so I checked the original copies of the song, and this is what I found:

The top is the platinum notes version, and the bottom is the original. Before you complain about overcompression, shitty mastering, brickwalling and loudness wars, I would like to say that Ableton's waveforms aren't meant for whole tracks and don't accurately present songs. I threw the songs up on mediafire so you can hear the difference. It's just cutting between the two songs every bar, It might get annoying but you don't need to listen for more than 30 seconds to really hear how bad platinum notes makes it sound.

EDIT: Re-upped DL Link. The first one was an mp3 I accidently rendered at -20 dB

I've been running all my songs through Platinum Notes 2 for the last 4 weeks.

No complaints so far.
