So I want to get some wall washing. I can only afford 2-4 pieces depending on what I get. Which ones would you guys recommend from the following:

$199 each(new COB Technology)
http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?Category=&ItemNumber=2229

$199(ADJ ultra bar 9 or 6 for $150)
http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?Category=&ItemNumber=2216

$150 or cheaper
http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?Category=&ItemNumber=2089

Or if you can recommend anything else in this price range. I would love to get something like ADJ Ultra Go Par7X with rechargeable batteries but they are $249 each.

Thanks.

Are you looking for uplighting or wall washing?

Wall washing - The ADJ Ultra Bar series looks like a good deal for the price. I don't think the DOTZ fixture you have listed is going to work for your application. If you could stretch your budget check out the Eternal EchoEdge. It has RGBWA & UV!

Uplighting - The ADJ flat Par 7Xs are a good fixture and plenty bright for most applications. $249 is cheap for a bright rechargeable fixture. I can't wait until $250 gets you rechargeable and wireless.

Actually the Dotz is really wide washing and very very bright. The New COB LEDs are ultra ultra bright.

I wish I could afford the Eternal lights. They look like a great fixture but too pricey for me. I also like the ADJ flat par 7X's because the price point is great. Plus i've them at great deals.

Thanks for advice.

And this is why I put them on the list. Very bright and new technology at a good price. These can also be used in different forms. Either on the floor for wash or on a stand for blinders. I'm sure I can get them well below $199 as well. Thanks for advice.

The DOTZ offers a 25 degree beam spread whereas the Ultra Bars offer 40 degree.

That's good to know Bill. Should I also base it on output?

Dotz: 4x9-Watt COB TRI LEDs (RGB: 3 in 1)

Ultra bar: 9x3W Ultra bright TRI (RGB: 3-IN-1) LEDs

ADJ doesn't publish photometric output data so it is difficult to make an educated comparison. A narrower beam will be brighter most certainly, so you'll have to decide if you want streaks or a wash.

What do you think about the eternals compared to others based on numbers?

Probably your best bet if you can afford them.

Priorities are different for everybody but for me wireless control would rank above battery power.. though in 2 years I have yet to have a request for control of the uplighting from the DJ or customer. I have done a few events where the lighting had to be setup the day before so it was on for at least 30hrs or more, batteries are good these days but put a couple years use on them and the charge time drops dramatically. Right now I have 22 Tri LED pucks similar to the Blizzard Puck3, overall I'm very happy with these, they produce lots of output and a wide range of colors and are real easy to setup with linkable AC connections and the 15' IEC cables I bought for them. That said the next pucks I buy will be RGBA to get the added color flexability.

I agree with wireless control when it comes to uplighting. I would like to get something that I can use a remote control and go threw different setting on the fly.
