I've noticed this white cotton stuff in one of the top right ports of my RCF Art 312A about a month ago. I just got around to asking about it. (Pic below). It still sounds just the same as when I bought it , but i'm concerned as to if this is something to worry about.

- Thanks!

At a guess its the wadding that was knocked loose then moved around by the air durring hard use.

You're pic isn't up at the moment but off hand could it just be the insulation from inside of the speaker being blown out? If so, just stuff it right back where it came from (usually around the woofer).

I've fixed the pic. So generally there's nothing to worry about?

OK, I see your pic. Yep it's definitely the insulation & no nothing to worry about, it's very easy to put back into place if you want.

There may be no problem, but dislodging of damping may be an indication of too high internal pressure caused by excessive driver excursion. If you don't have subs, or if you do and the mains aren't properly high passed, this could be a warning sign that should not be ignored.

At an average of ten a day from each site I frequent I wouldn't have time to do anything else but answer them. For the same reason I don't do any 'social networking' sites.

Good thing to be aware of when mine start doing that. I think that is the secret though - maybe that specific material? To RCF's loud/clear sound reproduction. Just a thought - shows how much I know about speakers lol.
