hi, im getting the occasional glitch in audio playback on my laptop (PC) and im not sure whats causing it (i think its skype!)

it happens even when not using DJ programs

i have never noticed it happening when im DJing live, but i hope it doesnt

just wondering is there a good program or something i can use to find exactly whats doing that and tips on ways to trim down my CPU usage

Have you tried disabling anti-virus, IM clients, internet, C: drive indexing, toolbars, ect. What OS are you using? What computer?

Serato has been kind enough to post this describing ways to reducing this, will work for all applications not just SSL. computer-optimization-guide-for-windows-users (http://serato.com/articles/scratchlive/1927/computer-optimization-guide-for-windows-users)

In terms of tracking the problem down task manager and event viewer are built into windows and can log and track this.

Perfmon is your friend here. Set up some counters and leave it running until it happens again, then look at your perfmon logs to see what's the culprit.
