I have finally come to my senses and realised that i do need wash lighting
It will mainly be used for house parties, school functions, eventually weddings and pubs etc
All mobile gigs, and I'm looking for the cheap option to start
I have found two options at my local shop, can people please help me determine which one is better

They are the same light. They look like same? (I think)

I think either one is fine. They are the same kind of light basically. The difference is the LEDs are all blended in together in one of them. And the other, it's sections of the same color LEDs. But if I was going to pick, I like the "sectioned" one.

Pass on both and get something with Tri-LEDs.

They are similar, but one seems to be all RGB, the other 82 or something close of each R G and B
Why would you go the sectioned one?

This is a tri led. it looks dramatically better than the 86 led types.

Why would you go the sectioned one? I like that one because it can make a show of "little blocks" like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tCTefvPUcQ

vs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0IxFpqvCxo

This is just my OPINION only. These are just example videos. I don't know exactly what the ones you posted on your first post look like, but these are similar

The important thing is get what you like

isnt the point of the forum to find out what is a best economic approach, and what the CUSTOMER wants?

ADJ has introduced the Ultra Bar 6, 9 and 12. Tri-diodes with a 40 degree beam spread. At $ 149 MAP for the 6 it's not a bad deal.

They arrived today, the 2 colour strips
Really bright, durable while light, solid etc
Im happy, they work perfectly with my dmx controller
Just can't work out how to get them into sound active or how to use slave control
