Moving this over to DIY. Might get more feedback there, given the current 1200 refurbish threads.

How good are you with soldering?

I would say my experience ranks at a 0. Hahaha. I've done a thing or two here and there but never any real practice or know how.

Trying to fix my Vestax 05 Pro II as well, so I might have to practice.

FYI - was looking at a pair of MK5s, one with a broken tone arm. It has sold now.

Alright. I replaced mine 2 weeks ago. The 5 tonearm wires are extremely small and require a steady hand to solder them to the pcb underneath. Also have to be quick with the heat too, leave it on the board too long, see you later lol. Viperfrank has a vid up on YouTube, do a quick search of it if your still interested.

Cool... good to know. Thanks!

I'd give you rep, but I've give it to you too recently.

It's not that hard, take your time and learn the process. Previously I have replaced two techs tonearms and they work just fine. Before that i haven't done any soldering work in few years. I was little excited with tonearm wires, but all good.

Yep, ViperFranks tutorials how to do this and that with your technics turntable are excellent. I learned from him. :D

As g-sep mentioned, five small wires needed to be soldered. Eventually you will have to disassemble the setting plate (white plastic assembly with gear) because you will have to insert the wires in the center hole. As you put back the setting plate, makes sure to adjust the spring properly that latches the tonearm anti-skate adjuster before putting the plate into place. Also remember which screw goes to where. Hit me with a PM if anything goes wrong. I'll guide you into to it. :)
