View Full Version : Double Weddings? Advice needed....
I just got a request for a 2-couple (hetero) wedding.
Has anyone here been involved with this type of event before?
I quoted a higher price to reflect the extra hassle of consulting with 2 couples and having to do 2x 1st dance, 2x Father Daughter dance, etc.

Is this what things are coming to nowadays to save money? 2 for the price of 1?
That is crazy.

Lots of people used to do double weddings back in the day - I don't know that it was to save money though.

My advice play some d&b and some dubstep.... On a serious note make sure you don't mix up the bridal parties and the music associated with each couple and since you will need to be more focused try and unload the MC duties if this is part of the gig. After the special dances and stuff the gig shoul run the same as any other wedding reception other than double garter throws and the like.

wow I am thinking how much time all the dances, toasts, etc are going to take. I mean we are talking 21 minutes for just the first dances, father/daughter, and mother/son dances. thats based off a 3 and a1/2 minute song. Now you have entrances, toasts, cake cutting, garter, bouquet, money dance. Start trying to convince them to knock some of this stuff out at the same time or you can forget about open dancing.

My only experience with a double wedding in the 15 yrs I have been doing this, is two couples did everything together for the special songs. They picked out one grand entrance, one first dance, one father daughter, etc and we just always had two couples on the floor. The garter toss became almost a competition to see who could get crazier.. but at the end of the night it was a great time, almost 1000 guests and a $400 tip to cap off my night.
All you can do is talk to them, get their vision and then make suggestions if you see problems or conflicts...
