What genres would be good to dig for in order to create some deep house rhythms? I have been giving all my records of many genres a try and figured its time to hit the record shops. So Some basic pointers could help a ninja out. :teef:

Its a bit difficult to know what you want from your post.

You want to buy records to create house music with, like samples?

Or you just want to buy some new music with a house rhythm?

This thread has along list of on-line vinyl retailers which should help in any case: http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?35-Online-record-shops-Digital-amp-Vinyl-Master-list&highlight=vinyl

I'm looking to mix house music of any kind. I just was wondering if I need to buy house albums or if I need to make drums loops in serato/ableton. I honestly would love to get into the genre a bit and mix some cool sounds on vinyl, but I don't know where to start. Hope that helps elaborate on what I'm asking for...

You want 12" singles.

Is this just something you have to experience on your own like finding samples? I'm asking for good genres. Hell, tell a dude to back spin and throw some movie samples in for crying out loud...

I'm asking for advice, not smart ass answers. Unfortunately, thats the stigma around here. What good are these threads unless we give positive and helpful feedback. At the least, just do like your mom and pop hopefully taught you to. "If you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all.

I gave an answer that I thought you were looking for. It seems that no one (including me) understands your question. I thought you already mentioned a genre: Deep House.

My response was in reply to this:

No, buy House singles not albums.

I agree, your responses and questions almost make it seem you don't know how vinyl records work?

It's just very confusing

good place to buy records is discogs.com, I would buy records with strong 4/4 bass to practise beat matching. good songs with strong bass, are old 1995-2003 deep house trax. you wont brake your wallet also on these records. I like old filtered house cuz its easy to mix with vinyl. Just remember that buying vinyl is realy expensive, but if you have the love for it...go for it.

I thought the responses were quite reasonable for what you were asking. The best way it to go through record store, online or in person. and listen to what you like.

There are many styles of house, including deep house, so it comes down to what you want.

If you want to spin house on vinyl, buy house music records. Most commonly available in the 12" single format, although you might come across the occasional album/LP.

Ok I think this thread has gone it's course for whatever the OP may have been searching for. I'm closing this so it's not bumped from the past and confuses more people.
