:uhoh: I like some rap. As long as the artist has something to speak about. I'm sick of all the raps about the cars they drive, the money they make, and all the chicks they can get:rolleyes:

yeah... I really dun like the rap / hip hop that's around now (well, the stuff that I hear at least). Same reasons that are stated above. I'm not against it... I've heard some good stuff already, just not recently.

I happen to like Eminem. I think that he has talent he just needs to stay away from the bubblegum pop rap! However he has lost some points with me for doing the movie 8Mile:mad:

No assumptions, I am just replying to what I am seeing written here.

No one is mentioning anything about underground anything.

WHOA......just because people don't share the same view point as you doesn't mean that they're ignorant to hip hop:rolleyes:
I used to be big on hip hop but now most of it IS garbage IMO.

You know who I think are true hip hop lyricist:
Talib Kweli
Common
De La Soul
The Roots
Mos Def

Come on now, you all are twisting and misinterpreting my words here.

And those artists are pretty much mainstream.

And by "ignorant", I mean uninformed, not knowing, lack of knowledge, etc. . .

The talent pool in the underground is vast and deep.

I don't know if this is sarcastic or not.

Also, I simply can't "school" you.

Learn hip hop for your self. It is a great experiance.
Feel hip hop.
On your journey, do NOT confuse hip hop with hip POP the "illigitimate bastard son."

Tie links with artists that really are underground.
Go to a show. See who's playing in your local area. ALWAYS take the flyers that they hand out at them... Once you get "in" it is much easier.

I am not trying to sound as an elitist here, but I am some 7 years into it. It just comes to me now.

I 've seen this guy before. He appears on a television program that I watch. I had no idea he was an artist. When I saw him he was doing spoken words. Pretty deep stuff!

No reason to get red faced.

El-P. particularly when he was in Company Flow.

Speaking of flow, Check out Strict Flow (http://www.strictflow.com/) . They are a Pittsburgh group.
