I've always wanted to get away from my sound active lights and get some that are sound active but can also be controlled via DMX.
Reason being, It happens almost every gig, where I know when the party is in full effect and everyone is hyped, blacking out the lights and strobing them for the build up would just really take it up a notch.

I've looked at the Chauvete obey 3 & 4 but don't really like the functionality and little quirks it has, having to play with the sliders to get it out of strobe mode and what not. Something should just work and not have any special tasks you need to do just to stop something other than hitting the off button lol.

Anyone know of any 4+ channel controllers that a. aren't too expensive and B. aren't to large?

Thanks!

What type of lights are you planning on controlling with it? Just wash lights?

Have you considered the ADJ 3C?

Or why not just get an Obey 40 then, and create a "strobe" scene.

Besides the Chauvet Obey 3/4 and ADJ 3C, all other controllers are standard 19" in order to fit in a rack.

I have thought about this controller myself http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?Category=&ItemNumber=2064 (American DJ Duo Station) . Now I have two controllers...an Elation Stage Setter 8 and a Elation SC-8. May interest you. It's a DMX/Analog Hybrid.
