I have been plagued with too many issues with cables, power strips etc over the years. Now, I like to show up, plug in and get to work.
Heres How I do It.
Initially I had
Power for 2 CDJ's
Power for 1 mixer
Power for 1 laptop
Power for 1 Audio interface (SL4)
Power for 1 wireless mic set
thats 6 power cables alone!
now for the audio out
Master out
Monitors out
.... get where this is going? a regular setup.
I looked for solutions all over for years and never saw anything "clean" enough for me. I wanted 1 power cable out - most of the power strips weren't that efficient or small enough to pull of this feat. Thats where the Power Squid comes into play.
I had to widen all the holes in the coffin and re drill the wire cover plate in the back to accommodate the plug ends but it was for the best.
so from left to right - I put my SL4 and USB hub under the 1st CDJ, Under the mixer the MAC power supply and Stanton Laptop stand, under the 2nd CDJ The POWER SQUID.
I'll edit this in a few with pics of everything
