I recently purchased 2 chauvet sensations, a chauvet fascination, and a martin atomic 3000 strobe. The problem is that each sensation weighs about 21 pounds. I can't find a light stand that would make me feel safe about putting the huge dmx lights on it. Does anyone know of any very sturdy light stands, or any solutions to this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you thought of truss+stand combo? Those usually hold 200 punds max. You will also have plenty of room for other lights and the option of having one section (or two) of the truss sections in between the stands. Be sure to use the Altman style C-Clamps for your lights. They are all steel and require a wrench to tighten down, also ALWAYS use safety cables, as your lights are able to hurt (or kill) someone if you don't. There is also the liability side. If one of the lights came down and broke something that the venue owned or hurt someone, that party (those parties) is (are) able to bring a case against you, it wrth the $6 to 8.00 for that little steel cable.

I posted this a while back. A great budget lighting stand made by Skytronic, it goes up quite high an easily holds 140KG (I can hand on it and I weigh 16st so it'll hold lights OK) 4 metre wide triangular trussing which is in 2x2 metre sections that bolt together. The tripods are not fitted with winches though (which is the only downside).
