I recorded a pretty solid mix (At least i think so), however theres one transition thats making me consider not uploading the mix at all.
Here is the transition: https://soundcloud.com/jj-ziner-1/im-on-the-edge
Wondering if you guys think this acceptable; IM on the edge

ehhhh it might be better mixed in. I still have this problem, trying to cut in tracks like that, the kick is a little off from the other track. Maybe if the tracks were similar in the way they sounded you can get away with it. Maybe cover it with white noise or do an echo out. Usually what I do with minor transitions in recorded sets like that.

Acceptable? Yes... It's clean. Would help if you included a bit more of both songs though.

The drop is ok-ish but the tail falls out of key

I wouldn't let that transition stop you from uploading the mix!

I think it sounds OK, but there's a clicking sound just as you do the power down that stands out a bit, but it's only so noticeable because I listened to the same short section of a mix multiple times. I agree that it would help if you had included a bit more of each song either side though.

An echo out on the power down would have smoothed it over a bit, but yeah - based on that short sample, it's well timed and sounds alright for a slam of that type.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
@DJ ARMANI, i know exactly what you mean. when i use to use a midi controller, i could do this effortlessly using loops so that the transition would be perfectly timed, but now that im using cdjs, unless i know both songs well enough that i can start the incoming song 16 or 32 beats early, its always close but never perfect.

@MANU - Normally if im doing a slam style transition, its because i cant find a song that i want to play thats fits harmonically. Thats the trouble with having a very small library.

@sigma - Unfortunately, i dont have any sorta of effects on my current setup - CDJ 400 and Vestax PVC 175.
@SSS - Sorry guys for the clip being to short, i was ridiculously tired when i posted this.

The mix should be up within the hour
