I went out today to but a new lighting stand and had to get some advice, as I totalled up the weight of my rig to be about 100KG (now i've got the knights and fascinations). Luckily I encountered a freindly salesperson who was really quite honest as we discussed weight requirements he said the only suitable size they do would be this

For which I said that paying £320 was a bit extreme as I was only planning about £200 and did'nt really need wind-up stands. He took me to one side out of his bosses sight and told me to pop down to DJ Superstore (http://www.djsuperstore.co.uk) as they've probably got something cheaper, so I took his advise and popped down there and picked this up:

This was a real bargain at £130, bearing in mind it's rated upto 120kg and the only real difference is it doesnt have wind up tripods which i'm not really bothered about as I always bung a mate a few ££'s to help out and run the lighting while i'm DJing. Proves a point though, if you shop around for any DJing / Lighting equipment you can save lots of $$$ / £££'s

The only real problem I've got now is working out a way of mounting the Spotknights on the stands as they've got 2xM10 threaded bushes in the base but the provided mounting clamp is just too flimsy to do the job. Anyone got any ideas as i've picked up a few clamps but I'll have to heavily modify them to make them suitable
