I have used that fixture before, very nice but a bit too big for what I want to do with it.
back to the two I posted before, any distinct advantages/disadvantages to the clear domed one? anyone got/used one before?

cheers

The first one you linked to is just a knock off of the American Dj or Chauvet versions and should run just fine. It offers DMX LED changing and it actually rotates. The second link has several things with it.

The second one is essentially the same except for the dome does not rotate. This is its weakness, it will not have the same sort of moon flower/mirror ball motion the other will give. It will be one beam that goes in and out of focus.

Capt. Kirk, thats exactly the response i was after! I missed the fact the second didnt rotate, thanks.

I have two of the ADJ's for sale on this forum right now. Unfortunately they don't have DMX which seems to be what you are looking for. They do produce a great effect though.

Dont get the first one, the starball knockoff. It does not work well at an angle, the lid will scrape on the casing. I had one and sold it because I could not mount it sideways on my truss with it scraping on itself and getting stuck while spinning.

I have a pair of the ADJ Tri LED Sunrays and use them at every gig I do with great results. They are very versatile with the UC3 controller since with a push of a button they can be slowed down for slow dances or kicked into sound active for fast dancing. I run 1 per side on a 10 foot truss and was thinking of getting the all white version for the center. For super small gigs I just use one under a 4 bar. Be careful of the cheapos since some are only designed to be used on a table top or upside down. The motors may not be strong enough to spin them mounted horizontally.
