Looking at the numark website, it says the X6 mixers run on 9VAC? Is it supposed to be 9VDC?

I don't understand, not many devices require low voltage AC power....

AC is what it needs. Many electronics do their converting to dc internally.

^^^^ Indeed, it saves on installing heavy, bulky and expensive transformers

Also it keeps the hum from the transformer away from sensitive electronics, saving the manafacture from expensive shielding.

This is outdated information. Rane uses all internal transformers now, and they were the big driving force for an external power standard in the pro audio industry.

Who cares what Rane does, most high end electronics keep the transformers outside the main chassis if the unit is the main source of audio. Turntables, CD Players, Preamps and Phono Stages. Even high end turntables keep the powersupluy and sometimes the motor away from the main chasis.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still not sure why it's stepped down from mains power to 9VAC, then converted to DC internally. Maybe to reduce voltage drop if the DC converter is external?
