So, who has turntables that are not 1200s as part of their home setup? What are they, and how do you like them?
Note: Let's keep it on topic, I do not want this thread turning into a pissing match of which turntable is best.
I picked up a pair of Numark tt-100s for $100. The torque is on the low side, but they are not bad for straight up mixing.

I used to own a set of numark tt-200s, I won't comment :P. My cousin had a pair of Stanton ST-100s that we'd use to gig out on. The Stantons were pretty good, if a little flimsy.
Bought a pair of stantons 150s and got rid after a few weeks. Went back to techn... Oh wait wrong thread :moon:
edit: wait a minute, where's the moon smiley :argh:

Rocking TTX's, I need to replace the Toshiba chip in one. I'm thinking about picking up a 3rd one and maybe a used Empath or Nuo 3.0. I did have a hard time setting up the S-arm with M44g's, but after some experimenting with the height I'm skip free.

Rocking TTX's
Nice. My buddy has a pair of X1s, and I like playing on those. I will probably grab a pair of TTXs when mine crap out. I heard Numark might be releasing a TTX model with a built in dicer-like section.

Yeah I heard that too. I doubt that it will happen, but you never know

I wouldn't be so sure about that. At the very least Numark has been pretty innovative.

That is true
We have a Citronic PD45 Mk2 as a third deck. I've got such a soft spot for PD45s (as many of you probably know :D)

I have a weird problem with one of my STR8.150s. When I apply pressure (to cue or scratch) on the platter, I hear this weird rubbing noise. I checked the platter and it's not rubbing with anything on the table, so I'm 100% sure what's going on. A Stanton support guy was telling me that it's the motor and it's damaged. Before I send it in to get repaired, can someone help me figure out what's going on?
Hmmm that sounds a little strange. The STR8150 motor doesn't have any moving parts except the spindle and the platter itself. Is your other 150 ok?

I have a pair of SL-1100A's that came out way before the 1200's, but mine are still made by Technics, so I guess they don't count.

Yeah. I thought it was the platter so I tried switching it, but the rubbing was just worse.

Sounds like the spindle bearing (which is part of the motor assembly, I suppose) is crapping out. If it's like a tech, when you pull the platter, you should see the shaft and bearing sleeve. You could put a drop of oil on in the bearing sleeve, but my guess is that the real problem is way down at the bottom, below all the layers of plastic and circuit boards at the spindle bearing assembly. If they will work on it, send it in.

I had a pair of Vestax PDX 2000 Mk Is. I really liked them for mixing and scratching but they had a few shortcomings. The platter was finished with a rough surface that you could hear in the phones while back cuing and scratching. The platter was also very resonate, it would ring like a bell if you gave it a good knock. The height adjustment was also tough to do, there was a set screw and the height was spring loaded, so you just had to eyeball it and clamp it down.
Tracking was beautiful though, and they were amazing for scratching. The motor was great, and the pitch fader was looser than a 1200 but very accurate. You could do some interesting mixes because of the +/- 50% adjust and the +/- 10% pitch fader. There were some other features I didn't really use a whole lot, like reverse, but adjustable start/stop was nice and the movable queue lights were nice. I upgraded the LEDs in the queue lights from sort of a piss yellow to a bright red, very easy mod.
In the end I sold my PDXs, I just couldn't see a need for them at the time. Now I would love to pick up a pair of PDX 2000 Mk IIs or 3000s, it seems like most of my issues have been addressed. I'd like to make a dedicated scratch setup one day, and I'd use PDXs.

Finally! A little love for vestax:P. I started out with a pair of Vestax PDX a2s and I have just about the same review as you. Pitch was great and they did the job well. Only parted with them cause I moved onto the 1200s. I'm lookign to get another pair of TTs and since the 1200 market is a little out of hand now, I was thinking of maybe picking up a pair of Vestax PDX 2000 MKIIs or 3000s... at somepoint lol.

I'm considering getting a pair of tables again, and I'm considering some Stantons as opposed to Techs, mainly for the cost.

I have a pair of ttx1's which i like very much, but deep down I still have an itch for some 1200's m3d or mk5's. Maybe because they were the first real turntable i played on that didnt have a belt lol. But it comes down to $$$, maybe in the next few months

I went to a scratch jam (http://youtu.be/ajhCclmPHDg?hd=1) on Sunday, I tried out some Vestax decks because I've only ever used Technics 1200s and 1800s. The Vestax decks were fine, I didn't have a problem with them at all. Can't really remember the model numbers other than one deck being a 2000 and another being the 3000???
If I saw them for a good price and I had the money, I'd get a pair for sure.

I have these first, which I really liked not as robust as my techs but they worked great:

I customed these up after my gemini's, which I like the geminis better tbh because of the motor power. The techs were built like tanks ( i know its non tech whatever):

Now I have these and they are my fav's, They have solid build, powerful motors, and I love the start stop for battle style: Stanton T120. I also gig out with them once in awhile. Mostly home use though:
