Hey guys, what is the best way to upload a transition? (1min 30sec) Is it still soundcloud or can you use the same as the thing you guys use to upload your battle mixes?

BTW I want to upload to be critiqued - no strings attached. no rants, defensive behavior etc, etc, etc.....:school:

Dropbox might be better to avoid copyright issues. But soundcloud is probably what I would use.

I treated the forum silence as an opportunity to work shit out myself.....Nothing wrong with some tough love I suppose.

Well here it is,

This transition is in the trance family
Track 1: Speed - Jermome Isma-Ae to Track 2: Tornado 2013(Reload Mix) - Skykeeper

I have no idea how to use it but I'm pretty sure that's where the battles are hosted

Got it sorted, downloaded Dropbox on my computer then uploaded the sample - the link is above ^^^

Thanks for putting me onto it though

The link you posted gives me a 403 error. There's different ways to set up shared folders/files on Dropbox and what you need to do is make sure it's public in this case, because you don't want to force people to sign up to Dropbox just to be able to download your file. You need it to work like it does in the battle section.

Try using soundcloud! It takes a couple minutes to register and it's real easy to upload you music onto there.

Thanks Sigma, I've changed the settings.......I think:confused: It worked on my end here, could someone give it a go and let me know if the link works this time around.?

Also, related to finding the best way to showcase a selection of transitions in a mix, would you guys prefer a format with all the transitions condensed into one file, short spaces between each transition and a summary of those.

For example......
T1: Song A to B (Track names obviously, just can't be bothered making any up right now :))
T2: Song B to C
etc. etc. etc...

I imagine that it would take about 10 minutes to listen to and would save people time looking for the transitions.

It still gives a 403 for me. I'm guessing it works for you because you're signed into Dropbox.

I get a 403 as well. I have only used photoshop to send pics between phone and PC and I was logged in at both ends. But I assume there are privacy settings you need to tinker with.

Ok, I've signed out of dropbox and I clicked the link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vrstrw78q45q5cz/IeGDBJAVOa/sample1.mp3

It's the best I've done so far, but it doesn't allow streaming, just a download option.

I can download but can't stream. SO it works on that level. If you want to know how to get the stream working. PM Jon Avalon (the guy that sets up most battle threads) and ask him.

I believe it's all fixed now

^^The link in that post doesn't work because of the way you copy and pasted it - you did it as text, rather than a link, so part of the link is missing.

This works though: -

As for the MP3 itself, I can't really say that much about it. This isn't my kind of genre and I don't know the songs you used. But it sounds alright to me man - it's certainly not a total mess or anything like that.
