I've recently modified the first of two turntables I picked up.
Replaced the MK2 faders with M3D/MK5 faders.
Replaced the LED's.
Replaced the broken switch.
Replaced audio cables and eliminated the ground wire.
Painted the table.

I am clear-coating the table now and noticed that the vinyl stickers I'm using show a faint line around the perimeter of the label.

Granted I've only used one coat as of now, but to those that have done this before:
If I apply three or four coats, does the label blend into the surround area?

If not, I'm taking them off, cleaning up the paint and clear-coating without the labels.

Thanks all-

I might be thinking of something else, but I think if you apply a clear coat before applying the stickers it helps disguise the outline. Then of course apply the usual clear coats on top.

More layers of clear coat will help it blend... As will sanding between coats.

Hated the way it looked. The lines never went away. Even tried six coats with light wet sanding in between.
Peeled/cut them out, sanded and went with the clean white look.

Love the way it turned out.
