Sup DJF!
I want to paint my VCI-100, Ive attempted to peel the DJTT cover sticker off and scratched up the original metal a little bit in the process. I want to paint the unit a nice glossy white. However im a bit lost as to how to do this...
Parts of the faceplate and the jogwheels all come off, so that's simple. However how do i got about painting the unit? I dont want to start taking the whole thing apart as allot of things are attached to the main faceplate from the inside (all the electronics). So do i just tape over the holes and i should be safe?
Also what kind of paint do you guys recommend for this?
Cheers :)

Honestly, if you want the paintjob to be any good and last for years, you,ll have to strip the unit and separate the faceplate from the main body. Then, you,ll have to scrub the paint off the faceplate using sandpaper, primer it then spray paint it with airbrush (even better, have it professioanly painted) and finally apply lacquer, so as not to damage the paint.

Tek,
Paint is one of those things that you either get it right 100% or its totally wrong. A job done %100 right will last for a while and never flake or peel.
If you are going to paint your controller then i suggest you take the time to completely dismantle it. The reason is because you will have to do a good deal of prep work prior to even painting to do it right.
Here are some shots of my projects:

There you have it!
Take the time to do it right and the rewards are great! You just have to keep things organized... Get some cups and use one for external screws for the case, one for knobs and faders ect.. You can even get a journal like notebook and as you dismantle you can write notes so you arent worried about reassembling it.
