I have a oddesy light and its sound activated but its slow as hell. It works but its like 5 seconds to late, but it was 38 shipped so no complaints here :)
I want somthing that is close to flashing or turning to the beat :)
Not like a sttobe light but somthing different.

If your prepared to lay out som wedge, then the ones I bought will do that on their internal programs and when they work in sound activated mode they're spot on. Seems like they take a few seconds moving slowly and analyse the beat and then move predictively in time, looks good.
For a good sound activated lightshow your looking at having to splash some cash, the main problem is cheaper effects have el-cheapo electronics for sound activation and don't really respond very well. To be perfectly truthful, nobody really notices if they're sound activated or not (except people in the know so to speak), Most of my programmed lightshows run by time rather than beat-sync.
I'd say if your on a tight budget get some linkable moonflowers, people always notice when lighting isnt synchronised with other lights as opposed to sycnchroinised with the muic. Theyll probably set you back around £300 for 4. Or if you want something a bit more advanced go for the Chavet Fascination, can be linked in two's or four's. They got 15 Gobo's, 12 colours, 1 bi-colour, 1 -4colour. Plus blackout & strobe and weigh in at around £140 each.

If you feel like spending a little more their is the Chauvet Track Scan ($850) or the Omega II ($240).

In my first post I was assuming your working to a tight budget. But if you've got a little more to spend intelligent is the wat to go, Marin MX1's start at around $450 from www.pssl.com and a chauvet DMX50 controller would set you back about $200. That would probably be the most versatile setup you'd get for reasonable money and offers the best flexibility :)
