i know at the beginning its a crab to a two click but after how do i transition cleanly to the power down?

This is what I do; Record is spinning, after last click and fader is open, immediately switch the deck of the off using the power switch. Doing this keeps the record to slowly spin down as opposed to pressing the stop/start button which can have a tight brake setting. Then do a backward scratch usually 3) but as you move the record backward, release the record so it catches up to speed (at this time is still slowing down) until there is no movement. Kind of hard to explain without a visual. It's all timing and knowing when to pull the record on beat.

It also depends on what your slipmats are like

I use d styles slipmats with the plastics underneath
