Im new at this, but I got the equipment, i got some skill, and i got close to no experience. I love all types of music except country and some forms of rock, metal, screamo, etc.

Im 16 years old, loving my Numark NS7FX with Serato ITCH, and 2011MacBook Pro. I've had one gig small time christmas/new years party went pretty good.
Next thing Ill be doing is throwing a house party for my friends to see what they think(Some time in early March). But they all have different taste in music and not much of the party types.

I need to know what can I do to appeal to most of them?
Any tricks for the NS7?
Some good songs recently came out?
If I'm missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need to know what can I do to appeal to most of them? You don't. If you try to please everybody, you'll please nobody. Pick what you want to play. If it's the standards, look at the mobile charts for guidance. If it's the Top 40, look at Billboard for guidance. If it's standard "DJ" music, look at Beatport for guidance.

I would worry more about your friends ruining that expensive gear. House parties are super rough and can kill your 3k in gear fast. IM assuming no alcohol because of your age. Music selection wont matter much at that age, you will have lots of people asking for the same song over and over, as well as some random guy wanted death metal just so he can shake his long hair. Thats why people recommend to just play what you like :)

Good luck and have fun with it. Dont stress out this early in the game, just protect your gear!!!! Use mattress baracades if you have to hahaha

Thanks, chomorro. Never thought twice about somebody breaking my equipment, or tripping over a wire, or breaking the drum set next to my stand.. oh god:eek:
Safety first i guess. And if my friend wants :slayer: ill play a part of lonely boy by the black keys and he'll shut up.
fueledbymusic id love to be myself but lately I've been getting to dub step cuz i love to mix it, but it would probably scare some people. So something between pop, hiphop, RnB.? Not Sure

By the way, anyone know any good light systems? they always make people dance.
