I have a pair of Chauvet Intimidator Spot LED 250s, a pair of Chauvet Colorrails, an ADJ Tri-Phase, and a Chauvet Scorpion GVC as part of my normal rig. Lately more and more indoor venues are nixing my haze machine which just equals death for an amazing lightshow, so when that happens i nix the laser as well. I have a ADJ Revo III but haven't been bringing with me to recent gigs as I'm really over the red, green, blue dot look. The pictures below are from a small prom I did recently with about 150-200 kids. While the rails seem to provide a good overall wash, I feel like something is missing. Any recommendations what to add/change? I've thought about picking up 2 more of the spots but that's another $1100 and I don't really do more than a gig/month or 2 so not sure I want to invest that much.

Maybe sell the ColorRails and go with 4-6 more powerful wash lights? It looks like your wash isn't reaching very far into that crowd. The Blizzard Rockbox RGB-UV would probably look amazing.

I have 2-Chauvet 4 bars and they light up the floor pretty good. I would imagine that combined with the colorrails, adding 2 4-bars would be perfect. But that is coming from a budgeted dj like myself. Only gig 2 times per month if that as well.

No point in getting beams if he can't use haze.

Perhaps buy 4-6 uplights to place around your setup? That will add to the ColorRail's wash and create more of an ambiance.
