hi
i just realised that one of my technics has a faulty wire and sound is only coing from one speaker

i want to fix it because i have a gig this sunday which i need them for.

but i have never opened one of these,i dont want to go messing with it without fisrt talking to someone who has a little experience with them.

first,i have removed all of the visible screws from the bottom of the unit, but the rubber-ish black cover on the bottom doesnt seem to want to come off. do i need to pull off the feet ? do they pull off? im afraid to break em..

thanks in advance for any help.

PS: it is a sl-1210MK2

the black feet just screw off quick so dont be afraid. i am sure there are plenty of youtube videos too showing the take apart

Screw off the feet , I suggest when taking the bottom off do it with the Tech on top of a pillow or soft blankets or secure the tonearm in the case
you don't want to damage it ..

Very simple and I used Youtube when I needed to solder a circuit board and RCAs

They're super easy to fix, just make sure the new rca plugs aren't too big or else they won't fit back through the brace.

+1 on this. I've found that Hosa cables are just about as thick as what you can pass through the plastic wire clip. Also, don't forget to zip tie the new rca cables to the tonearm PCB!
