DJ table paint job?

long story,short..last summer, I lacquer my DJ table.I didn't get the results I was after.needless to say,six months later the lacquer has turn to a deep yellow (and yes,I used a clear base lacquer).my question is,can I paint over the lacquer, with maybe an oil base paint??http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n281/discoangelDENNIS/HPIM0754.jpg Edit:the pic was taken before I applied the Lacquer.should have left it alone.:facepalm:

You should be able to man. Just light sand it and use some mineral spirits to clean it.

EDIT: Did some research and you may want to prime as well to ensure a good bond. Other than that, yep you can do it.

that setup is what i aspire to once i get off my ass and start doin something about it!!
