Hello people! So I rescued these 2 decks (techs 1200 mk2) I've fixed almost all of the issues but on one of them the LED pitch bulb is out. I bought a replacement just in case the problem could be fixed by simply switching the LED but nope, it wasn't that easy. I checked the connections that go from the pitch CB to the plug on the main CB but everything seems fine. I took apart the pitch fader itself and gave it a good cleaning (it had to be done anyways) thinking maybe the dirt was making a false contact or something but nope, that wasn't it either. I've used those LED's on other decks before so I now they work for that so I'm out of ideas. Any of you guys have any ideas on how to fix this?? Everything else on the deck works fine.

thanx!!

Change the pitch fader.

Part of the circuit that turns on the zero-pitch LED is inside the fader, with two contacts being bridged by the wipers inside the pitch fader when it's centered. If those wipers are broken or part of the conductive track is missing/damaged, the circuit cannot close.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS replace the pitch faders on 2nd hand 1200s... you can test the circuit board with a multimeter to make sure you have power going to it... you may just have a lose or bad cable on the harness

@RESAkA: I have the same problem with a 2nd hand 1200 I bought on Ebay. Did replacing the pitch fader solve it for you?

IF THE SOLDER POINTS ARE MESSED UP...you can use a straight wire and solder it to the next point in the circuit... a lot of times people overheat and mess up the original solder point for the LED's...instead of dropping $50 on a new one JUST in a sense patch the connection with a hard wire and bypass the messed up connection.

I find this a lot when I fix mixers....people are too hard or try to yank the rcas out and the movement causes it to come completely off the circuit board...which causes a short...bypass it and FIXED...I hope this isn't too confusing for you. Here is a picture showing how I fixed a mixer
