So my DJM 600 is in the shop right now because I was having problems with the control assigns.

I originally was going to get a backup for the 600 but I am thinking once the 600 is fixed make that the backup.

So here is the question what should I get

DJM 700 or Denon DN-X1600

I am still using 2 CDJ400s and do not plan on upgrading them anytime soon
Also I would be using Serato

I really need some input. They both are about the same size and will fit in my flight case. I just really need to know which one is the better mixer. They are both the same price and it will be one or the other so I need input

Thanks in advance
DJ MIRO

The x-1600 is far better than the 700. Better sounding effects, better midi implementation, nicer faders/crossfader, and built-in traktor soundcard. There's more but those are some key features.

between these 2 specific mixers, Go Denon

Does anyone know if the 1600 has a dedicated filter knob? I know that the parameter knob affects the filter of the actual effects, but does it work if you aren't using any effects? I just want a simple lp/hp filter a la Pioneer.

Pioneer FTW!

I have a 700, awesome mixer, has 1 dedicated filter knob.

Just turn down the WET/DRY all the way with the effect button on and it functions as a simple LP/HP filter as well as a flanger. Not as nice as having dedicated knobs below the EQ's but it works just fine.

Oh and to answer your question get the Denon. Great sound and Traktor implementation.

This, also the DN-X1600 competes with the DJM-800 and even the DJM-900 ;)

I too would go with the x1600. Unfortunately just last night I saw another DJ set up his X1600 at a party, turn it over and slap the bottom of it to get one of that channels to work. I don't know if that says something about build quality but I've never seen anyone have to do that with a DJM700/800.

All of that aside, the built in traktor interface is tempting.

i'd say x-1600. i used the DJM-700 and found it to be quite lacking for being relatively expensive. i expected it to have something that would make me want it over my 350€ reloop mixer but the only thing there is is the dedicated HPF/LPF.

Yes, the parameter knob is like the lp/hp filter in pioneer mixers.

I am put off Denon, after owning an x1500 for years when it was supposed to be a DJM600 killer it just doesn't live up to the hype. Sure it has great features, but the build quality is meh. That is the reason my only choices were A&H or Pioneer, KNOWN quality mixers that last years and still work pretty much perfectly.

I've had my DN-X1600 for almost a year now, not having any trouble with it. Against the DJM 700 the DN-X1600 wins easily.

djm 700 but i'd see about getting it in black and replacing the knobs from the plastic ones to the rubber ones.

They both have channels and a crossfader. It's all I need.
