I don't listen to odd future, but I like to scratch...
You guys were dope.
Sub 1: Wasn't really feeling the instrumental but was really diggin the cuts
Sub 2: Wasn't really feelin this instrumental either. Diggin the cuts, I really liked the Guillotine part, but got bored because you stayed with it too long and then went back to it.
Sub 3: I liked this sub the most, but that's Gucci's Lemonade.
Those cuts were cleeean and loved the variety.

It was really close between 1 and 3, but have to go with #3.

represent yo. I liked the samples that 2/3 used and 2/3 also had my favorite beats. As far as scratching I put it between 1/3 but I like the fact that 3 didnt use the two most widely used scratch samples the whole time. pretty close in my books but i vote 3

Good work all round but think no 3 was just a cut above the other two

ODD FUTURE rap instrumental means an instrumental exclusive to them right? so that wouldnt apply to 3
its close between 1 and 3 but i give it to 1

I'm going to go with #1. I don't think the scratching on #2 was on point and the 'represent' scratching on #3 just went on for too long and wasn't working (for me at least).

The battle server won't load at work:furious:. I'll check this one tonight.. can't wait.
Edit: Voted 3, had one of the better flows IMO ( I don't really care about the whole beat selection issue ). File 1 was great too, I think their style could benefit from a little more swing. File2 is getting there, had some sweet combos, but also had too many off beat moments and not enough pauses between the cuts.

ah that's the traditional Ponuts' 'im watching you' message that he posts in his battles xD
also I have the feeling that hipnopath voted for himself
I will DL and listen later and vote, good to see scratch battles again on DJF
edit: wav file? awww

Voted for #1. Would have voted for #3 if the instrumental followed the rules.

Sure did. It's pretty clear that I lost, so what's one vote matter?

ready to vote can somebody tell me if the "lemonade" beat counts or doesn't.

it's not the vote that matters but the fact that submission on djf tend to be anonymous unlike other forums. I'm not trying to say anything, just observing
anyway, I listened and there it goes:
#1: good submission. cuts were not as risky but overall it was well executed which is often the key in battles
#2: some good ideas. I think the phrase cutting would have benefited of having the sample slowed down to gain in fluidity. it seemed like you had to pause the record instead of using the blanks within to the sample. other then that, a little sloppier than the other files.
#3: the 'represent' cutting part was pretty funky and clean. nice combos with the ahh, would appreciate having them broken down when the poll is over. If I nitpick, i'd say it's a tad repetitive but I'd probably do these combos for 3 minutes if I knew how to make them.
#3, #1 and #2 in order
3 had the best cuts even though it was on the lemonade instrumental. 1 was the next in line going over an actual OF beat.
my vote, 1.

great to see the battle back up...
This was a decent matchup between 1 and 3. #2 has some more practicing to do but you are on the right path. :D
gave my vote to #1.
maybe contestant #1 and #3 can come back later for a mono-e-mono battle???

i voted for #3, waited no one said anything. i felt that the scracthing in the third one complimented the track more. mix one and two's scratches were cool, but they were mostly scratching "double" time (don't know the correct term but double the speed of the track). would have like to have heard more drags transforms or whatever at the speed of the track.

I have to go with mix 1. I think it had the tightest cuts and followed the rules best.

#3 was really tight, #2 was really good too but I prefer #1. I think #1's cuts were the nicest.

I was mix 3. I honestly thought I chose an odd future beat, but I got tricked by a youtube uploader. Anyways that was a close battle and Ponty I thought your cuts were a lot cleaner than mine, especially those 1-click orbitals.
