As DJ's we all know that engaging our audience is key to our success. There are various ways to keep the crowd into your set/mix. I want to focus on Sing Along Songs with this particular thread. The particular type of setting/event is wide open (clubs, mobile, radio, mix tape...) With that said I would like to start a thread in each genre of music of your favorite (successful) Sing Along Songs. Hopefully this will can grow into a sticky.

Peace,
Que Yi

Any song that the crowd participates in. Whistling is new to me so if this is what the crowd is into then by all means list those songs.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "Call me Maybe" purely because in every situation I've been in where I've heard that song, there's been somebody singing, humming or bopping along to it. I'm sure there has to be at least one good remix out there. I actually liked Reidiculous' remix. On a side note, please don't flame me for my mainstream opinion. I'm just a poor, musically-uneducated boy with no sense of direction. It will change, I promise.

Along with that one... Afroman - Colt 45. My room knows both by heart and sings right along with the tracks as they dance.

Based on Aussie crowds and in particular order these are my must go tops
Walk 500 miles
Don't look back in anger. - oasis
Holy grail - for all the footy fans. Or simply the best - nrl fans
Khe Shan - cold chisel sometimes my last track
Your the voice - John Farnham
Shook me all night long or thunderstruck / Acca dacca
Livin on prayer
Summer 69
Just a girl no doubt
Bohemian rhapsody - queen or we will rock u n champions
Let her cry - hootie
Angles - Robbie
Nirvana / fleet wood / Eagles / credence
Tub thumping chumba
Starships Minaj. But I guess it's a fine line see plenty of songs we dance and sing along too but these are really the winners when a venue has told you turn down during the later part of evening where noise restrictions apply and people start singing along and I can't tell the people to be quiet. like last night epic night as always

The point of my post was not to look for a "key to success". I've been in the game for almost 30 years. I know what success is.

The point was to share your experiences of songs where the crowd showed you love by singing along with your selections!

Peace,
Que Yi
