I'm really getting into this sound as it provides me with remixed hiphop in a more structured way. I will be using it for opening sets as my usual style doesn't fit laid back early set times.

Does anyone have some good recommendations for where to find great tracks for this genre?

I've heard it described as glitch hop, nu funk and mid tempo too.. So that makes it all the more confusing!

Since a lot of nu-funk/ghetto funk is remixed old stuff(not worth paying royalties), a lot of it is given away for free. I mean really good stuff too!

The Ghetto Funk blog has a weekly soundcloud scour (changed to bi-weekly) worth checking out. They also give out tracks randomly. Check out the Icons Remixed 1-3 http://ghettofunk.co.uk/icons-remixed-free-album-download/ http://ghettofunk.co.uk/icons-vol-3-ghetto-funk-remixes-clips/ You may have to sign up at ghetto funk to get these.

http://freebreaksblog.com/ also has a nu-funk round up every 1-2 weeks. Really good site for stuff the ghetto funk blog missed!

Hope this helps out!

Edit: Here's a quick mashup I did a while back if you want it. :P This was posted in the Nufunk roundup #40 http://freebreaksblog.com/nufunk-round-up-40/

I love the stuff, ghetto funk has the icon vol. sets that are a great way to get started. Burn them to cd and listen to them when you are driving, something will come together for ghettofunk sets.
