Have you tried any free web hosting sites that offer web builder?

If you register with iwebs.ws they offer free unlimited space and badwidth with no ads. You can build a site and then just buy a domain name for around £7 ( 2 years ) at godaddy. Then just add the name servers from iwebs.ws to your domain cpanel and then park the domain name at iwebs.ws account.

As for web design ai dont really make templates I can edit css and html coding. so if you find a template I could help you get something online for you :)

So my designer flaked on me and doesn't respond to messages. I need to find a new designer to do a simple website.

$100 will pay for a hosting server and very basic tech support for a year. Raise that budget to about 1.5K and you can get yourself an entry-level site.

Your best bet is to learn wordpress and do it yourself.

I use 1&1. Pay like 20 bucks for a year and they have some decent templates that are customizable. That includes my domain name too.

Can confirm that $100-$200 is not going to be enough to get a professionally designed/developed site. You could probably hire someone who will put together a template/wordpress site on some cheap hosting for you but anything custom is going to cost a lot more than that.

You can design your own website using the likes of weebly, wix etc, which look decent using there templates or ad your own, this is probably the best route as you can edit your self pretty easily if the need arises,if you go for a professionally designed website they will fleece you every time you need changes. So its a matter of weighing up the pros and cons is it worth $1000+ for a professionally design or try yourself or pay some one the $150 - 200 to make the cheaper alternative.

It won't hurt trying to code your own using NVU or browser based editors like the aforementioned... I did that in high school. Although hiring a professional is, well, more professional. But what if the designer goes out of business for some reason? Who will then update your site?

For that kinda money, you're better off paying and creating your own at www.squarespace.com
