question about truss vs vertical truss

Hey everyone

I'm confused... Currently I use 6 x adj comscan led scanners for big events. I usually double skirt my truss with scrims and the truss is pre wired so it looks clean. I purchased 4 chauvet spot led moving heads and I'm confused...

I can only afford 2 vertical truss at the moment. Should I get them or will my current truss work for this ? Do the vertical truss really make that much of an impact ?

Which LED Spot did you get? If they are the 150s, your current truss may be able to handle the load.

Vertical truss (global or others), just give a whole different look to your setup.

I got the 250 led, the truss will still hold the load but is the vertical truss really that much better?

I kinda lied i didn't order them yet :p but i can afford to get

2 moving heads with 2 pilers
Or 4 moving heads and use same truss ?

well you can still do 4 moving heads on 2 truss. you can do 2 up top or 2 on the floor right in front.

A company I do a lot of work for does 2 on top and 2 on side of the truss. You can do that. See the pic:

I think truss looks much better than tripods. That's what I'd go with, but I think it's personal preference.

well lets say you can buy 4 moving heads to go on truss like the adj ones or 2 moving heads to go on 2 vertical truss?

Would 2 moving heads be enough for wedding of like 200 ?

I think so yes...i only have 2 myself for my gigs and if you program them correctly to stay on the dance floor 2 can be a good show.
