What's with this stupid rule? I use to be able to just go bam bam bam through different forum posts and put all my thoughts within 5 minutes. Now it 15 minutes minimum to do this................my question is why the change?

Prevent spammers from posting a bunch of garbage within minutes.

Nothing's changed, we always had this rule.

good for anti-spam. sometimes a good 30 seconds will calm a troll down and make him realize he doesn't need to make another dumb post

one would argue that some members need a "wait 30 days before you post again" restriction

On my forum I have it set so that the flood control only affects people in lower member groups. Once you hit a certain number of posts, you get promoted to a higher group and you're no longer affected. I don't think this is something that should affect established members that have greater than X number of posts.

I find it more annoying when doing searches, because i'll fat finger a word and then have to wait to search the actual word i was meaning to type lol

Yeah this is really the only time that it bothers me. Though I'm only really a ****** user around her but on most forums I end up using the search and I generally want to search 2-5 different terms to make sure I'm not missing what I'm looking for and a 10 second job ends up take 3 minutes.

Not a huge issue but still frustrates me.

I assumed that searching a forum must use more bandwidth than I realised o put more strain on the server somehow but I don't know how it works so I'm more than likely wrong.

Surely if you're posting in less tan 30 seconds then you haven't had time to read a thread properly and write a meaningful answer.

The thing i do find a tad annoying is the "wait 30 seconds between searches" rule, which means if i make a speling mistak or something then i have to wait 30 seconds to research

Actually, come to think of it, I have problems with the thirty seconds between searches.
