Does anybody know how to setup a camera or iPhone from a birds eye view above turntables when deejaying? If you know, can you send me a link to a website on how to build a platform for the phone or camera or give me instructions...

This is your newbie speaking...

I took the hi-tech route and sellotaped a camera phone to the ceiling :teef:

vvdcG1t6NEM

The sound was recorded seperately (into a PC in the normal way), and then someone far cleverererer than me matched the sound to the picture using basic editing software.

Hope this helps :)

I use a usb HD web camera by Logitech with a 4foot usb extension so I can have the option elevate it. You can use YouTube or Picasa to record the video it's only take a matter of making sure that you configure to record internally to your sound card from the webcam and not externally from the camera mic.

So to do this you will need a few things, first is your camera, some tape...

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1043_zps86da2688.jpg

a step stool and a mic stand with a boom arm.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1044_zpsed8a6884.jpg

Next place your camera at the end of the boom stand...

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1045_zpsa89e362a.jpg

Pull off about a foot of tape from the roll

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1046_zps526beb5e.jpg

Tape your camera on loosely so adjustments can be made.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1047_zpsefea99b5.jpg

place the mic stand on the stool

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1051_zps938e801e.jpg

Tape the stand to the stool

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1052_zps4042a627.jpg

A little extra tape won't hurt

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1053_zps91398c39.jpg

place overhead and your done.

http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/djpudgey/overhead/IMG_1054_zps5f40e9d5.jpg

Also if you have a short USB cord, you will need to get a USB type A to type A extension.

That is all.
