Anyone else do anything for events that are not nightclubs? it was interesting to me at 1st since i'm self taught at this design thing, i knew photoshop very well from doing photography and manipulations for companies. but design was something i fell into as a dj, i know cubs/music/djing so i knew what flyers were supposed to look like.
past 12 months or so ive had a contract to do posters for a TV channel's comedy tour, and more specifically the local comedy festival. the themes are quite different, (circus/burlesque/broadway/showgirl) i't fun to do other things for a change. I also take the photo's for them, which makes life easier, i know i dont have them asking me to make a poster from a photo taken with a phone  happens so often.
only downside to working with tv companies/major brands is that you have less freedom with the design, after i finish the draft (its up to me to come up with the design) they then come in with "ok we want this this this this"
