Volume control on Powered speakers

Howdy,

I have a pair of Mackie Thumps th-15A's. I was wondering on the volume knob in the back, theres a notch at half way. Is that full power to the amp, and the rest is just gain it puts on the signal before it hits the amp? Or is all the way turned max power to the amp? Thanks a bunch guys.

It's a powered speaker.

The knob controls the amp gain. Pre amp should be line level off your mixer.
