just curious, since lugging around 2 turntables can be a big hassle. any comments or thoughts? obviously you must use some dvs (serato)

//EDIT: for serato users - do you prefer instant doubles or input reverse?

I spin an 80s rock/pop night, and I only bring one turntable because it serves my purpose. But when spinning at a normal hip-hop/dance/top 40 gig, I always rock two decks.

I've been known to use 1 deck with SSL and at the time I used the input swap button mapped to a midi controller. Much prefer 2 decks though.

Back when I used to have only one turntable, I just played internally with traktor for deck 2 and used deck one for control vinyl. It got the job done. Now I own two decks, I would never go back.

Torq has amputate mode allows you to use one deck and switch sides.

At Moyo (yoyo contest, http://moyostates.com/) 2010, there was a DJ spinning the night before the contest and he was only using one turntable with, if memory serves correct, VirtualDJ.

I've seen (bad) DJs with NO turntables - rocking iTunes. I've not seen a DJ with just one TT though.

I only have 1 turntable set up right now. All of the multitrack mixes I've posted on here were made with 1 turntable and a mixer, but I wouldn't ever want to DJ live with 1 deck unless I had to.

At house parties, smaller gigs, or smaller DJ booths, I'll spin on one turntable. Less stuff to carry and takes up less space. The only downside is it does limit me a bit in what I can do, but not too much.
