Anyone have any opinions on the best mixer under $1000. Not much of a Pioneer mixer fan and I'm not big into effects, just beat mixing...so sound quality is most important....

Here are the ones I'm considering so far:

Ecler Nuo 4.0
Allen & Heath Xone 42
Rodec MX1400 (A little over $1000 but considering it anyway)

Any thoughts would be appreciated..thank you!

Cant beat the sound quality of a xone 42!

Both the Nuo 4.0 and MX1400 do so.

The current Xone 42s are made in china, the Rodecs are handmade in Belgium and the Eclers in Spain.

The Ecler is a great mixer, very reliable, great sound, great workflow and more inputs than Paris Hilton.
The Rodec is also great, it is built better than a tank, and boy does it sound. It is an absolute workhorse, like every rodec. the headphone amp could power your speakers

Thank you for the input..I've been leaning toward the Ecler..just haven't heard much about them in a market dominated by Pioneer and Allen & Heath and Rane...they often get overlooked

Depends on what you do. What style of mixing? Do you scratch? Do you use DVS? Do you like to tweak with EQ? Do you like effects? Do you need booth outputs? MIDI capability? Sound card? How many mic channels? Looking for local tech support?

I'm a fan of Rane, Denon, and Pioneer mixers. If you are looking for a great mixer under 1K with Traktor certification, internal sound card, effects, full-kill eq, 2 mic inputs, 4 channels, booth output, and tech support here in the US, then I'd take a serious look at the Denon DN-X1600. Pioneer has great mixers too, such as the venerable DJM-800 and the great DJM-900nexus, but expect to pay much more. Rane makes awesome mixers, but I'm not a fan of the Sixty-Eight.

Re Ecler. Keep in mind that it appears that their DJ division hasn't released a new mixer in some years and appears to have been shut down.

Is there anyone here who's able to make a comparison between the sound from Ecler's Nuo series and the sound from a DNX-1600? I currently own a Nuo 3 and love the sound from it, but as I add more equipment, the lack of a dedicated mic channel is becoming more and more of a problem, especially as Ecler are notoriously stingy with their line level inputs on the newer Nuos.

The X1600 looks perfect for the direction I'm heading in, and I've heard great stuff about it, but I'm interested in how the sound compares before I take the plunge. Unfortunately my local dealers don't seem to carry any of the 12" Denon mixers.

Remember that apart from the EVO series are ALL Eclers are fully analogue. this is a major (positive) impact on sound quality. The 1600 is not going to sound worse or better, but different. On a build quality point of view it doesnt come close to Eclers though.

Thank you everyone for your input. I'm going to give the Ecler NUO 4 a try. I found a dealer in NY and I'm in PA. The dealer told me that if I ever have any issues that need repair I can go through them to get it resolved. I'll keep you posted on what I think of the board. Thanks again!

Not sure about stronger Denons but DN-X1100 has some serious issues with quality of the knobs.
