OK all, I recently bought a netbook specifically for my equipment only. (Well of course I use it for other things when I want). For this netbook, I put all my music collection on it. And only music. My plan is to use it for straight music only. That's how I been doing it forever! No Serato or Traktor or any other programs of that sort. As I still like to use CDs. (And maybe plan on CDJs that play USBs one day). I really don't like to have to depend on the computer entirely!

So I would like to ask you guys. What would be a good music player or program to use. As of now, I'm just using the Media player... Someone suggested me Winamp. I think I heard of free programs that you can mix music within the computer. Post a link of that suggestion.. Thanks all!

Anybody else here that uses your laptop on your equipment for straight music only?

I'm rocking two ThinkPads, a W500 (mainly used at home for Ableton, Cubase etc) and a x200 ultra portable with SSD for taking out.

The X200 suffered a drink spilled over the keyboard a few weeks back ... it never missed a beat. I just shut it down and carefully placed a towel under it to collect the liquid. The next day, I took the keyboard out and washed it in the kitchen sink to make sure it wasn't going to smell bad (red wine), then let it dry off and re-fitted it. Most laptops would not survive!
