Are Numark TT200s a good choice for a beginner wanting to start using vinyl/timecode?
I was thinking about investing in a pair of these and maybe a xone 22, please give me some suggestions for a decently cheap timecode setup.

Any entry level turntable is fine for learning. If you can step it up to the TT500's, go for it. They're very cheap and use the same motor that's in the flagship TTX turntable.

Otherwise, if you must get a starter set, just purchase a pair used so you don't cry to much when it's time to upgrade ;)

TT200s are fineTTs, had them myselves. get some good slipmats and decent carts and itll work just fine.
I would advise against the 44-7s, the Numark tonarms have some play on them which the 44s dont like

tt200s are fine for learning to mix on but if you wanted to learn to do a bit of scratching as well then maybe the tt500s would be a better choice if you like the numarks as the motor is ALOT better for scratching.

true, but the Technics have roughly the same torque as the TT200s and they've been industry standard since 1979, also in scratching.

yes on paper it does but in reality a tech turntable will last years keeping its torque, the tt200s dont seem to do this...you have more chance of the 200 breaking down or loosing some of its torque...i owned a pair of old tt200s that i got second hand years back now and one deck was fine but the other had lost loads of torque and was alot slower.

Theres a BIG difference in quallity between tech 1210s and tt200s..you cant compare the 2 in the same breath :)

Peace

true, but I had both (still have the Techs), and while the Technics is by far a better turntable, the Numarks are not too shabby for entry level. The ones I had were 7 years old and working like a charm

The tt.200's work great and for the price no other turntable competes.
